The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is a globally recognized examination assessing English language proficiency. Acknowledged by over 11,000 universities, professional organizations, immigration authorities, scholarship agencies, and institutions across 150 countries, TOEFL is the most widely accepted English language test worldwide. It is conducted in over 4500 test centers spanning more than 165 countries.

Administered by the non-profit organization ETS (Educational Testing Service), TOEFL iBT (Internet Based Test) is the predominant format of the test. This assessment measures the ability of non-native English speakers to comprehend and utilize English in both spoken and written forms, as well as in listening contexts typical of college and university settings.

Candidates can take the TOEFL test multiple times, but not more than once within a 12-day period.

Listening Section (41 – 57 minutes) - 3 – 4 lectures, 6 questions per lecture 2 – 3 conversations, 5 questions per conversation

Reading Section (54 –72 minutes) - 3 – 4 reading passages, 700 words long 10 questions per passage
Writing Section (50 mins) - 2 tasks of writing essay responses based on reading and listening
Speaking – 17 mins - 1 independent and 3 integrated speaking tasks about a familiar topic and discussing material that you read & listened to
Total Scores - TOEFL scores are out of 120 points
Total Time - 2 hours
