Our Methodology

The Surprising Findings
Finding #1: Shorter courses outperformed longer ones
Courses under 6 months had a 40% higher job placement rate than programmes lasting 9-12 months. Why? Because shorter courses forced students to apply knowledge faster, and employers valued recent, focused credentials over lengthy academic experiences.
Finding #2: Project-based courses won decisively
Courses that required students to build real projects (with public portfolios) had 3x the interview callback rate compared to courses that relied on quizzes and assignments alone.
Finding #3: The provider matters less than you think
We found no significant difference in career outcomes between courses from "prestigious" platforms and those from smaller, specialised providers — as long as the curriculum was current and project-focused.
Finding #4: Stacking micro-credentials beats single certifications
Learners who completed 2-3 complementary short courses (e.g., Python + SQL + Tableau) had better outcomes than those who completed a single comprehensive programme. The combinatorial skill set was more attractive to employers.
